Ahmsa to develop iron ore reserve in southeast Mexico

It's reported that the Mexican integrated iron and steel producer Altos Hornos de Mxico (Ahmsa) has planned to develop a new iron ore reserve located in the southern state of Oaxaca through its subsidiary Minosa.

The said mine reserve is estimated at 170 million tons ore.
This project had been under discussion for some years with residential areas nearby issue and now to see a settlement achieved soon.

The project also include a pipeline connecting the mine to the Salina Cruz port and possibly a steelmaking plant .

However, Ahmsa currently denied the steel mill project in the area. Currently, Ahmsa has iron ore operations in the northern Mexican state of Coahuila.
